NEW DRIVEWAY AND WALKWAYS

Over the course of 25-30 years your sidewalks and driveway may show wear and could need to be replaced. If you think you might need to resurface, or replace your asphalt, read on.

At All Pro Construction and Restoration, we believe that the best-looking driveways and walkways begin long before we lay down the new surface.

For this Sussex County project, our team started by carefully evaluating the site’s existing grade and drainage patterns, ensuring that both the new walkway and adjoining driveway would shed water away from the home’s foundation.

Installing an asphalt driveway begins with careful site preparation, including removing any existing pavement, vegetation, or debris and grading the area to ensure proper water drainage. A solid foundation is then established by laying down a thick layer of crushed stone or gravel, which is compacted tightly using a heavy roller. Next, a binding layer of coarse asphalt is applied, providing strength and flexibility. Finally, a smooth surface layer of fine asphalt, known as the “topcoat,” is spread and carefully compacted to create an even, durable finish. The driveway is then allowed to cure, typically for 24 to 48 hours, before it can be used, ensuring a long-lasting, stable surface ready for regular vehicle traffic.

At All Pro Construction and Restoration, our commitment remains clear: exceptional quality, dedicated teamwork, and genuine client partnerships, every step of the way.
